What this site knows about you

Privacy policy

This site sets no cookies and runs no visit counters or third-party scripts — with one exception: the CloudTips payment form on the “Support the author” page. The server does log which pages are opened, but it cuts your address short and keeps the records for no more than 30 days.

When a line is written, the last of the four numbers in your address is replaced with a zero, so the log shows a group of 256 addresses, not one connection.

What the server logs

When you open a page, the server writes a line about it to the log. There’s no separate visit counter — the log is enough.

  • What’s in a line

The time, your truncated address, the page or file with its parameters, the server’s response with its size and timing, the protocol and encryption versions, your browser, and the page you came from, if your browser shares it. Nothing else from the request — not your full address, not cookies.

  • 30 days at most

The log is kept day by day, and each day is deleted in full once it’s more than 30 days old. Logs don’t go into the server’s backups.

  • Who sees it

The logs stay on this site’s server, and I’m the one who reads them — to look into errors and to see which pages get read and where visitors come from. I don’t pass them on to anyone. The server also uses the log to count Lang Switcher downloads — just one number, shown on the download page.

What this site doesn’t have

The one exception is the “Support the author” page: the payment form there isn’t mine but CloudTips’, and it comes with its own cookies, scripts and statistics — more on that below.

Cookiesthis site sets none
Countersno visit counters and no analytics services
Third-party filesno outside scripts, fonts, images or widgets: everything loads from this site, and the fonts are ones you already have
Formsno sign-up or comment forms: the only field on the site is in the keyboard layout converter, and the text you put there doesn’t leave your browser

In your browser — your theme and language choice. When you press the theme button (the sun or the moon), your browser remembers light or dark for this site. On pages that also exist in Russian, it remembers en or ru under the name lang when you press the language button or open one of these pages from Lang Switcher. Neither word is sent to the server. Until you press those buttons or open a page from Lang Switcher, the site stores nothing on your side: it takes the theme from your system and the language from your browser. To clear your choice, delete the site data for panda-pishet-kod.dev in your browser settings. Project pages with tabs keep one more thing, just for a moment: when you click a tab, the browser stores one number in this browser tab’s memory — how far down the window the row of tabs was — so the next page opens at the same spot and the row doesn’t jump. The next page reads that number and erases it right away; it isn’t sent to the server either. And when you paste text into the keyboard layout converter, a script on that same page converts it right in your browser: the text isn’t sent to the server, and the site doesn’t save it anywhere.

The payment form on the “Support the author” page

It’s CloudTips’ own page, shown in a frame. It loads as soon as you open that page, before you click anything; no other page on this site has it.

If you’re in the EU or the UK

You may have questions about your data. Here are the answers, in plain words.

  • Who’s responsible for your data

I am — Panda Koder, the author of this site. I read the server log myself and don’t hand it to anyone. You can reach me at send.me@panda-pishet-kod.dev.

  • What’s kept, and why

The server log described above — your truncated address and what you opened, for up to 30 days — so I can look into errors, see which pages get read and where visitors come from, and count Lang Switcher downloads. And letters, if you write to me. Your theme and language choice stays in your browser, and so does any text you paste into the converter. No cookies, no visit counters, no accounts, nothing passed to others — except the CloudTips form on the “Support the author” page, which follows CloudTips’ own rules.

  • What you can ask for

You can ask what I keep about you and ask me to delete it. To be honest about the log: with the address cut short, I can’t tell which lines are yours, so there’s no way to find you in it — and it clears itself after 30 days anyway. If you’ve written to me, I can find your letters and delete them if you ask. Just write to send.me@panda-pishet-kod.dev.

  • Lang Switcher and this site

The program contacts this site only to read the author’s news feed: once every 15 days, or again the next day if the site didn’t answer. It identifies itself as “LangSwitcher” and sends neither its version nor anything about your computer. In the log, that’s a line like any other visit: the time, the truncated address, the file’s address and the program’s name. You can turn the feed off in the settings — the program’s page explains how. Buttons in the program’s windows simply open regular pages in your browser.

  • Links to other sites

GitHub, CloudTips and the other sites linked from here learn nothing about you until you follow a link: this site doesn’t embed them or pass them anything — except the CloudTips form. When you follow a link, your browser tells them only that you came from panda-pishet-kod.dev, not which page; after that, their rules apply.

  • How to reach me

For questions about your data, email send.me@panda-pishet-kod.dev. If you write, I’ll have your letter and the address it came from, like anyone you write to.
