About
Who writes the code here?
Hi, I’m Panda Koder. I make Windows utilities and tools that open right in your browser. The programs, this site, a blog in Russian and the replies to your emails — all of it is my own work.
My desk
This is where I write my programs — in the evenings, on weekends and whenever I’m not at my day job. So updates come out when there’s something to show, not on a schedule.
Cabinet drawing
This is where M-Click started — a 3D cabinet design tool that’s in Russian only. I needed a cabinet to fit my wall, and furniture programs wanted me to install them, sign up and give them my phone number.
Box with a light
My own server, for this site and email. The addresses built into my programs have to keep working for years — that’s not something you hand over to someone else’s platform.
Phone
News about new versions comes straight to Lang Switcher: once every 15 days, the program reads one file from my site and shows any new letters in its “From the author” window.
Notebook
Drafts for my blog: how decisions got made, what the measurements showed and what went wrong. The blog is in Russian.
Keyboard
Where the code gets written: Rust and Win32 for Windows, TypeScript and three.js for the browser. The green key is Pause — press it, and Lang Switcher fixes text typed in the wrong layout.
Bamboo
The panda can’t work without it. It also grows along the edges of every page on this site.
From my notebook
Not long ago, I realized…
…that every program starts with pain. It’s when you do the same pointless thing for the hundredth time and think: if only there were one button for this… And then you open your notebook and decide: why not?
Every program is a road of disappointments on the way to perfection. That’s how Lang Switcher was born — from a word typed in the wrong keyboard layout for the hundredth time. And M-Click came out of weeks wasted on drawings, hand sketches and trips from one panel-cutting shop to another. And that’s before you even start putting the furniture together — just trying to figure out how any of it works.
Let’s talk
A question, a bug, an idea, an offer — or something that sort of works but still isn’t quite right. Write to me — maybe your message will be the one that starts an interesting new project!
